Feed a Farmer is a program dedicated to supporting the hardworking farmers and ranchers who feed our nation. Inspired by Chad’s upbringing on a Southeast Texas rice farm, the initiative began with a simple idea, to deliver meals directly to farmers in the fields during harvest, when long days often leave little time to stop and eat.
What started as a small gesture has grown into a meaningful community effort, bringing together local businesses, volunteers, and agricultural leaders to provide meals to farmers exactly when they need them most. Each harvest season, the program continues to expand, honoring the people whose dedication keeps agriculture and rural communities thriving.
The idea for Feed a Farmer was born after Chad attended a conference focused on community giving. Reflecting on his own upbringing in agriculture, he realized his community was the farmers and ranchers working long hours in the fields—and that even a simple meal could make a difference during harvest.
With the help of partners like Texas Farm Bureau, Capital Farm Credit, and local businesses such as Cattleman’s Kitchen and M & J Fertilizer, the program coordinates meal deliveries with active harvest schedules to reach farmers directly in the field.
What began with 50 meals in 2022 expanded to 175 meals during the 2024 harvest. In 2025, more than 250 meals were delivered in Jackson County and over 230 meals across Southeast Texas, with support from local FFA students and community volunteers.
Our Feed a Farmer program continues to grow each year, with plans to expand into more farming communities and reach additional harvest crews. Through continued partnerships and local support, the program aims to deliver more meals and continue giving back to the hardworking farmers who help feed the nation.
