In April 2022, Chad attended a real estate conference in Orlando where a mastermind session focused on giving back to our communities. While others talked about serving towns and neighborhoods, Chad realized my community was different—farmers and ranchers working long days in the fields. A simple idea came to me: deliver lunch to farmers during harvest. Chad grew up on a rice and cattle operation in Southeast Texas and understand how easy it is to skip meals when work must get done. After high school, Chad farmed leased land and eventually bought a 640-acre farm, deepening my connection to agriculture. In 2022, Chad reached out to Amy Hamilton of Cattleman’s Kitchen to help deliver meals directly to harvesting crews, and she immediately said yes. That first year, we delivered 50 lunches to farmers in their fields. In 2024, Toni Spencer of M & J Fertilizer joined as a co-sponsor, helping us expand the effort. By the end of the 2024 harvest, we expect to deliver 175 meals to hardworking crews. What started as a passing thought became a meaningful way to serve the agricultural community that keeps this country fed.
